The Puppets dialog

puppets dialog

The Puppets dialog allows you to choose which players you will play with (human or bot), and, if a bot, its style of play. Note that in network games, only the host can change these settings.

Name

These pop-up menus allow you to choose the puppets for each seat. In partner games such as Spades and Bridge, the player across from you will be your partner, the left and right players will be the opposing team.

When arranging players in a network game, the host cannot place the same player in two different positions, nor can the host leave blank spots in between other players. The Puppets Dialog strictly enforces all internal rules about which players can be in which positions and informs the host of any problems when clicking OK.

Skill

These pop-up menus allow you to choose a bot’s skill level.

Style

These pop-up menus allow you to determine each bot’s style of play. Aggressive bots tend to take more chances and are risk takers... but, of course, sometimes that pays off!

Voice

These pop-up menus allow you some control over how each puppet speaks individually. You can choose to use the Prerecoreded sound bites for each puppet, or you can mute a particular player completely or you can use Speech Synthesis and have the puppet use a spoken voice. This is particularly useful for some of the older puppets that may be missing sound bites for some of the newer games like Crazy Eights and Bridge.

Randomly select puppets before each solo game

This option enables you to play with different puppets every time you begin a new solo game.

Randomly shuffle player seats after each network game

This option automatically changes the seating arrangement of all the players every time you begin a new network game.
